Located in Italy’s Piedmont region—a region famous for its truffles and hazelnuts—Abbazia is named for an ancient abbey that dates back to the ninth century. Since 1848 the Santero family has produced wines in the coveted Italian Alba and Asti regions of Piedmont and maintained a passion for winemaking.
Piedmont – North Western Italian region known for rich foods and the great wines that pair with them. Abbazia maintains 60 hectares of vineyards in this region
Alba - The city of a hundred towers is known for Barbera, Dolcetto, and Nebbiolo wines
Asti - Located at the centre of Piedmont, known for sparkling wine, Moscato, and Barbera
After many generations, the Santero family is proud to own and manage this winery, which is still so important for its historic and cultural significance. Over the years, under the expert guidance of CEO Mario Santero, the new generation's members have followed the old way for over a century, keeping the same passion, the same love for nature and for the vineyard. It is a priceless experience which starts in the vineyards and ends in the bottle.
Abbazia’s mission is to obtain the best results from its vineyards through personal communication with nature, walking through the grapevines understanding their evolution day by day. "Your land will never betray you" is one of the best mottos of the Mario Santero who believes that If you grow your land with love and care, you will be rewarded with good fruits.
